English Language requirements
You will be required to provide evidence of your proficiency in English. We accept the following minimum qualifications:

Scholarships
Overseas Research Students Award Scheme (ORSAS)
These awards were set up by the UK Government to attract high-quality international students to the UK to undertake research.
Accommodation
- Most students live in college for at least one year.
- Option for privately rented accommodation is available.
- Every college offers its own set of accommodation, facilities and opportunities.
Accommodation in Durham
- There are two types of student accommodation at Durham.
- All first year students will be offered college accommodation, as well as 2nd or 3rd year accommodation. However, many colleges may be able to offer you accommodation for all three years.
Application Procedure
Applicants should submit an application for postgraduate study using the standard on-line application procedure; there is no separate application form. In the standard on-line application form, in the section entitled "References, Finance and Funding", you should state that you wish to be considered for a Durham University Doctoral Fellowship in response to the question concerning how you intend to finance your studies (you should also mention any other applications you intend to make for financial support or sources of income already obtained).
