Course objectives
The Graduate Diploma of Information Technology is designed for graduates with an undergraduate degree in areas other than computing or information technology. The course offers continuing education at a graduate level for professionals from all disciplines. A background in computing is not required.
Successful completion of this course will give students the foundation, knowledge and skills to:
- Be familiar with the theoretical basis of Information Technology
- Demonstrate appropriate project management principles and techniques
- Demonstrate the programming skills required to architect and implement complex computer systems
- Analyse, design and implement software systems, including functional, relational and object-oriented methodologies
- Communicate, in written and oral form, their own work and the work of others
- Discuss the latest developments in IT.
Scholarship
At MIT we believe and recognize the hard work of quality students and their contribution to the community at large. In recognition of this we have established a Scholarship Programme for those students who wish to apply for courses at MIT.
Applicants to any MIT Scholarship Programme must not be sponsored by other organisations or governments and must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the relevant programme. The scholarships will provide financial assistance toward the cost of tuition fees only.
