Monash Malaysia
Established in Melbourne in 1958, Monash has eight campuses including one in Malaysia and one in South Africa, and a centre in Prato, Italy. An energetic and dynamic university, Monash is committed to quality education and research.
From its first intake of 347 students at Clayton in 1961, the University grew rapidly in size and student numbers so that by 1967, it had more than 7000 students.
In 1998, the Malaysian Ministry of Education invited Monash to set up a campus in Malaysia jointly with the Sunway Group. Monash University Malaysia was established in 1998 -- the first Monash campus outside Australia.At present there are some 4,500 students and 500 staff, with growth projected to lead to over 6,000 students and 600 staff. About one quarter of the student body is international. The campus continues to develop steadily, and now enjoys excellent facilities for world-class education and research.

Monash University Malaysia's New Scholarship Scheme:
Monash University Malaysia is introducing a new scholarship scheme for its high-achieving students, effective from the next intake in July.The university currently provides three types of awards – Entrance, Merit and Monash scholarships.
The Entrance scholarship is awarded to students who have satisfied certain criteria set by the university and excelled in their pre-university studies, while the Merit scholarship is given to full-time students who have obtained excellent results for two consecutive semesters of study in their first year at Monash University Malaysia.
