The Institute of Systems Science (ISS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) has delivered graduate programmes to over 4,500 students since 1981 which focus on the practical aspects of information technology (IT) and data science. The NUS-ISS Master of Technology (MTech) programme offers degrees in Software Engineering (SE), Knowledge Engineering (KE), Enterprise Business Analytics (EBAC).
The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore offers substantial tuition subsidies (known as “Service Obligation Scheme”) for eligible SE and KE international candidates for up to the maximum duration of the course.
Full-time SE and KE candidates may apply for a loan under the Tuition Fee Loan Scheme.
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
|SOFTWARE ENGINEERING (SE)||KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING (KE)||ENTERPRISE BUSINESS ANALYTICS (EBAC)|
|Undergraduate degree, preferably in Science or Engineering|
|Proficiency in the English language (spoken and written)|
|Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least B (3 out of 5)|
|• Preferably 2 years relevant working experience as an IT professional in software development or maintenance (e.g. programmer, designer, software project manager)||• Preferably 2 years relevant working experience as an IT professional (e.g. software developer, business analyst) or as a domain expert working in an area where Knowledge Engineering can be applied||• Preferably 2 years relevant working experience. IT, engineering and scientific professionals would make ideal candidates. However, those with work experience as domain experts, working in an environment where they can apply Business Analytics, would also be acceptable candidates|
|• Candidates with highly relevant IT degrees, with consistently good academic records, and good practical software development knowledge gained either through course work, course projects or professional IT certifications may be granted a work experience waiver||• Candidates with highly relevant IT degrees, with consistently good academic records, and good practical computing knowledge gained either through course work, course projects or professional IT certifications may be granted a work experience waiver||• Candidates with highly relevant degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Management Science, Operational Research or similar, with consistently good academic records may be granted a work experience waiver|
|All applicants are required to take an entrance test (60 min) and attend an interview conducted by ISS.|
