1. Overview of the institution
Established in 1451, the University of Glasgow is one of the oldest universities in the English-speaking world and is also a member of the prestigious Russell group of leading UK research universities. The university’s annual earnings in research account for £181m, hence leading to many important discoveries. Besides the research-led approach being one of the factors for the much esteemed degree from the University of Glasgow; students also benefit from opportunities to study abroad, improve their employability, while participating in work placements and exploring a wide range of social activities.
2. Location and facilities
By virtue of the fact that Glasgow is UK’s third largest cities and one of Europe’s most exciting destination, students enjoy an exciting campus life in the city, which is famous for its music, shopping, culture, nightlife, sports and great outdoors.
The university has three campuses namely Gilmorehill, Gasrscube and Dumfries. Each of these campuses offer a range of support services, such as career services, counselling and psychological services, IT services, disability services, student learning service and a library.
3. Departments/Subject areas
The University of Glasgow and The Chopras are delighted to announce 6 new dedicated scholarships, totaling £35,000, for students that apply to the University through The Chopras for the 2017 intake.
The University of Glasgow is offering one scholarship worth £10,000 and a further 5 scholarships worth £5,000 to high performing students applying through The Chopras for Masters courses in the world renowned Adam Smith Business School.
Eligible students must apply through The Chopras to business courses at the University of Glasgow starting in September 2017. No separate application form for the scholarship is required and all applicants will be considered based upon their individual academic merits.
The application and decision deadlines for the scholarship are as follows:
Applicants holding a programme offer by 1 March 2017 will receive their scholarship outcome by 16 March 2017
Applicants holding a programme offer by 1 June 2017 will receive their scholarship outcome by 16 June 2017

6. Careers: Unique student support
The University’s career advice service provides service that aid students with writing CVs, making crucial career related decisions based on self-analysis, and prepare for interviews while building on communication skills. Students are also able to gain experience through opportunities, such as placements, internships, volunteering, part-time jobs and gap year. A wide range of companies also hosts a number of events and workshops designed to develop students skill and attributes.
