1. Overview of the institution
The University of Hull is a public university, founded in 1927, located in Kingston upon Hull, a city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The main university campus is located in Hull and there is a smaller campus in Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast. The main campus is home to the Hull York Medical School, a joint initiative with the University of York. Students are served by Hull University Union.

The main campus is located in a residential district of North Hull on Cottingham Road. The University has a smaller campus in Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast.
Situated in the leafy residential suburb of Newland, just two miles north of the city centre, the University’s Hull Campus is one of the most attractive academic sites in the country.
There are numerous cafes, coffee shops and restaurants, along with bars and a nightclub; the Sports and Fitness Centre plus the playing fields and Astroturf pitches; a well-stocked shop and a bookstore; even an art gallery and a hairdresser.
Scarborough Campus provides an exciting intimate study environment, bringing together 20th and 21st century architecture with all the resources you would expect from a larger campus.
The campus has a modern, colourful and comprehensive library, open access IT areas, onsite accommodation, a restaurant and 24 hour student social space, a café bar and Students' Union.
