1. Overview of the institution

California Lutheran University is a private university located in Thousand Oaks, California, between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Cal Lutheran offers 36 undergraduate majors including business, creative arts, social sciences, research based-sciences and pre-professional programs including pre-law and pre-medicine. Special emphasis is given to experiential learning through mentored research, study abroad and internships. Scholarships and need-based aid are both available for international undergraduate students. SAT/ACT are not required for international student admission or scholarship consideration. Cal Lutheran is recognized as a Hispanic Service Institution and strives to welcome students of all backgrounds who are committed to service and justice as global citizens.

2. Location and facilities

Cal Lutheran's main 225-acre Thousand Oaks campus (located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara) is complemented by four satellite centers in Oxnard, Santa Maria, Westlake Village, and Woodland Hills. Thousand Oaks (population 128,000) is one of the safest cities in the U.S., according to the FBI.
